Hillside Travelers Done!

Hillside Travelers has finally been done. It took me a lot more time than I have planned. I was hoping this could be done within 2 weeks, but in the end it took way longer than expected. It is my bad to abandon it in a box :(

Book Haul Part 1

I have been meaning to share this book haul for like a month ago, and here it is!

As many of you may know that I am truly, exceptionally, very much fond of French cross stitch designs. And I was so lucky to find these book in Japanese version, which relatively cheaper compare to the original French version.

Crystal Christmas.....Is Back Finally

As what the title said, yes....Crystal Christmas is back after long MIA! 

A lot has happened over the last two and half years. I went back to corporate world after stop for almost three years, but quit after working only half year. Then run a child enrichment center, closed down after getting pregnant. My baby girl is getting 3 month old, feel like going back to corporate world again. LOL.....

I stitched quite a bit during my second trimester. I seriously thought that I could finish this piece before the baby born. Oh well.....Just too uneasy. Especially with a 4 year old cheeky boy around. Nevertheless, there is a progress I would like to present to you.

 More hard works to be done on this part, as there is a missing angel on the left :)

Part I

I have issue to look for the Star charm to be stitched on top of the X'mas tree. Apparently, this charm has stop from producing. Oh well....I have to look for its repl

Crystal Christmas

Some of you may have noticed that I have been collecting stash on different floss secretly. Here and here.Yes, those are for one of my favorite design, Crystal Christmas by Mirabilia. This chart has been with me since last 6 years, can you imagine that? :>

I faced some difficulties on stitching Arctic Ray floss, I still feel that the floss is too thick to stitch on 32ct fabric. Perhaps you would share your experience with me. I would like to complete it seriously, hopefully by Christmas this year. Will keep you updated!

Hillside Travelers

I'm working on Hillside Travelers that started 2 days ago. It is fun and relaxing to stitch. However, I guess I would have very little progress this week, as I'm having lower back sprains and strains :( Gotta see doctor after DH get back home from work today.

Rose Quaker Sampler Framed!

I decided to frame this with gold painted frame, maroon soft board with non-reflective glass. 

And yes, the maroon soft board with gold lining, so that the red or brown color motifs stand out perfectly!

Rosey Finished!

I just finished up Rosey. I'm so happy to have this finished earlier than my scheduled. I replaced the suggested DMC 3777 with DMC Color Variations 115. The dress turns out so nice, do does the flower!

Rosey

Another Rose design?!?!?! Yes, I decided to start Rosey after the huge(at least for me!) Rose Quaker Sampler. Not only stitching the same rose series of project, I have been stitching on the same fabric too. Guess I'm addicted to 40ct fabric.

The Rose Quaker Sampler is finished! I'm so glad it has to be done! ::phew:: It is a real Ta-Dah moment! What a gorgeous piece.

Rose Quaker Sampler Part 3

I have made some major progress on this piece and I hopefully finish it up in the next couple of days. Looking at the BIG FROG in the middle of it makes me feel sick. I have to work harder, to clear this frog out of my view!

1-Blanket 4-Japan

Things have been very quiet here I know, but very busy behind the scenes. I have been participating in a worthy project "1-Blanket 4-Japan" to help the Japanese earthquake & tsunami victims to overcome a shortage of blankets there. Our club, Rotary Club of Kuala Kangsar is supporting this humanitarian drive, to collect and dispatch  blankets to disaster-hit relief centres in Japan. The 1-Blanket 4-Japan projects end last Sunday, and the item items will be delivered to Japan by the first week of April. We are proud to be a part of the grassroots life-saving effort!

Prayer For Japan Earthquake And Tsunami Victims

An 8.9 earthquake struck Japan on March 11th, triggering tsunami tidal waves on the northeast part of Japan. I greatly sympathies with  their plight and share the sorrow of the victims. My prayers for all the victims of Japan earthquake and tsunami waves.

Yuu, your reply relieve my worries. Your name appeared right after I was being told about this disaster last Friday. Thanks God!

Rose Quaker Sampler Part 2

I worked on Rose Quaker Sampler quite a little bit over the weekend.....I have been frogging quite a lot, that's slow down my progress. However, I would like to re-stitch my main mistake at the end. 

Sorry for the wrinkles, I don't want to keep ironing the fabric before taking photo. The bottle that placed on top of the fabric is my Totally Useless. Somehow I feel satisfied seeing the bottle is filled.

Autumn Row

I'm so glad that finished the Autumn Row, Bent Creek last night. I think it turned out very cute.

I picked up few new patterns by LHN that I just received. Guess which pattern I am going to get started :)

Rose Quaker Sampler

I couldn't resist stitching Rose Quaker from Stickideen von der Wiehenburg after reading from Hearty Tones. This is my first time stitching on 40ct linen, it is uneasy since I have been stitching on 32ct for so long. But it is fun and the outcome is so gorgeous. I'm stitching this over 2 on 40ct Lambswool Linen from Wichelt using 1 strand of the DMC listed on the chart.

Oh well.....I did not have a good start. I did not differentiate between symbol Celtic and Cross clearly, hence I stitched it wrongly :(  No wonder the design did not stand out as it should.

Beside Rose Quaker, I also stitched another simpler design by Bent Creek, Autumn Row. The pumpkins look very cute. However, I ran out of DMC 310 Black, will try to finish it up after getting 310 today.

Frameworks

As promised, I gotta show you some of the framed finishes.

One of my recent finish, Dog Lessons for People by Lizzie Kate. I like this antique-looking frame so much! I got this from JD Arts & Frame, they carry wide range of imported frame.

Guess most of you think this frame looks very familiar. Yes, its from Ikea. I bought this frame last 2 years ago, but yet to confirm what to be framed that time. Oh well....isn't this finish match this frame nicely?

This is a pre-made photo frame that used to frame other documents. I recycled it with helps from JD Arts & Frame. It turned out gorgeous, just nice to place at my bookshelf.

If you have followed my blog lately, most probably you have seen it in my previous post. Yes, but I would like to take a better shot to show how nice of this frame when sitting on my Ikea Billy bookshelf :)

This is another frame by D Arts & Frame too. I personally like dark solid frame.

Opsss....Where is the frame? Hehehe....I did not frame this, but stick on door instead. My little prince, Chatwin keep pointing it when seeing this, as if asking me "Mom, who is the boy?"

Alphabet Tree Sampler Too!

Sorry for the late late late blogging. I have to apologize for the inactive blog as of late, been feeling so ill since the beginning of Bunny Year 2011 and facing bad luck on my cameras, both of my mobile and Canon camera went wrong.

I finished up Alphabet Tree Sampler last couple of weeks, I think it turned out pretty cute.

Alphabet Tree Sampler

After finished the a l'abordage, I feel like stitching another design for my son's room again. I went over my stashes with a fine-tooth comb last week, I found this lovely design.

This design  found in a  Japaneses Magazine Book Stitch Idées or Sutichi Idées Vol.10 that I bought last few months ago. This craft book  is chalked full of cross stitch and embroidery project inspiration and beautiful pictures, you will definitely like it.

I have to finish the top half of bunny portion, before move on to the upper part. The design is stitched in DMC 347, whereas the alphabets and apples are stitched in DMC Ecru. I guess this turns out to be a beautiful combination. Let's see if I can finish it by this week!

Here is my Totally Useless so far. I should look for a bigger jar, since I have already filled up a quarter of this container, and it's only the first month of the year! I did not buy this container, it's actually my Rose 4 Reines Pearlescent Body Cream from L'occitane. I like the design of the glass, so I keep it for my craft works, rather than send it to recycle bin.
