Happy Belated New Year!

A late New Year greeting to all.

I have been busy stitching lately, as well as drooling over my new stashes. I just found out that the job of translating is kinda tiring :> Please do not misunderstand, I'm not into freelance job, I actually get tired of translating Exercice de Style to English. I think I should have set my New Year Resolution as learning French, since I'm so much into French cross stitch designs.

At first, I did not understand from the chart itself, and so did the instruction :P
Luckily with Google Translate's help, then only I found out the design is so much different from what I have been stitched before. Almost all of the designs practice mix stitching style, with combination of stitching method, like 1 over 1 and 2 over 2. Let alone daisy and chain stitching. Isn't fun to be stitched?

Some of my friends complained about the pictures that I post for this book. Yes, I know. I was being lazy, instead of taking photo, I was just copied from other website legally :) So, here you go!

It's turn to show my finishes that have been stitched over the holidays. Perhaps I have opt the wrong technique in stitching a metallic gold treads, I found it uneasy to be stitched. Please share with me if you have experienced before or you have a little secret on how to stitch it easily. I will get it framed and place on top of my bookshelf!

I'm a big fan of a french cross stitch designer, Anne Sohier-Fournel. I keep few of her books in my collection, included Esprit d'Atelier that I have bought last month. One of my favorite books of her is Mots doux au point de croix. As some of you may recall, the Salon de lecture that I stitched last year, is designed by her too! I'm looking out a matching fabric to be sew as door hanger. If you have any in mind, please share with me.

Beside this, I'm stitching on another design from this book too, a l'abordage. I would like to hang this on my son's room.

Happy stitching!
